B-4 Program Curriculum and Master Trainer Resources

B-4 Program implementation is tracked on an ongoing basis; please contact Beth Ruland, Manager, Access to Care, if you are planning to use the B-4 Curriculum.

Binder Materials
These are files for materials provided to master trainers at the master trainer workshops. Materials can be easily downloaded and copies made for parent education workshops.

  • Parent Education Workshop Flyer: Insert workshop specific details including day, date, time, location, RSVP date, agency contact information and agency logo. (Template is in MS Word, also available in Spanish.)
  • Parent Education Workshop Agenda: Insert workshop specific times, date and location. (Template is in MS Word, also available in Spanish.)
  • Getting Started: This document includes both the Welcome and Purpose Section of the binder, which you received at the master training session.
  • Presenting the Book: instructions on how to present the book during the parent education workshop, including matching game and location game instructions.
  • Roman Numerals: this is the Roman Numerals chart, used in the master training session and should also be used in your parent education workshop.
  • Matching Game: three documents are available: the Matching Game in English, in Spanish and Matching Game Answers.
  • Safety Tips: instructions on how to present safety tips to parents during the parent education workshop.
  • Using the Book: instructions on how to lead an exercise designed to teach parents how to use the book (Ailment Game, Ailment Game in Spanish). This includes instructions on how to "Challenge" parents to use their book.
  • Training Skills: this is a summary of training skills that master trainers should review prior to conducting parent education workshops.
  • Resource Guide in English: this is a comprehensive listing of resources in San Diego County for parents, developed by the Regional Perinatal Systems. It can be handed out to parents for more information during parent education workshops.
  • Resource Guide in Spanish: this is a comprehensive listing of resources (in Spanish) in San Diego County for parents, developed by the Regional Perinatal Systems. It can be handed out to parents for more information during parent education workshops.

Evaluation Materials for Parent Education Workshops

  • Evaluation Protocols: these are the instructions for conducting the evaluation for the parent education workshop, including instructions for administering and collecting the pre and post surveys.
  • Parent Survey Data Log: this handout will assist master trainers in logging pre and post surveys and collecting other details such as date, time, etc. from their parent education workshops.
  • Parent Pre Survey: This is the survey that needs to be administered to parents immediately after welcoming parents. The parent pre survey is available in English and Spanish.
  • Parent Post Survey: At the end of the parent education workshop, the post survey needs to be administered to parents. The parent post survey is available in English and Spanish.
